Ms. Clare – Head Teacher, Island Montessori
Originally from Cheltenham, England I studied English and Journalism until a course in child psychology inspired me to focus on early childhood education. In my twenties I travelled all over the world as a nanny, tutor and camp counsellor before realizing Montessori was the educational method closest to my own philosophy. I am trained and certified by the Montessori Centre International in London 0-6. I have also received a diploma in Infant/Toddler education from the North American Montessori Centre 0-3. Since arriving on Grand Cayman in 2001, I have been teaching the Montessori toddler age group. After teaching at this location for 5 years, I am delighted to have been able purchase the school with fellow parents of current and former students, and launch “Island Montessori”.
I am excited and confident to bring my dreams for an exceptional school and make them a reality. I am blessed to have amazing passionate co-teachers to work with. I’ve been married to my husband Darren for 13 years and together we have two wonderful children Ned and Olivia who keep us busy outside of our working hours.
