Ms. Clare – Head Teacher, Island Montessori
Originally from Cheltenham, England, Clare studied English and Journalism until a course in child psychology inspired her to focus on early childhood education. In her twenties Clare travelled all over the world as a nanny, tutor and camp counselor before realizing Montessori was the educational method closest to her own philosophy. Clare is trained and certified by the Montessori Centre International in London 0-6, and also received a diploma in Infant/Toddler education from the North American Montessori Centre 0-3. Since arriving to Grand Cayman in 2001, she has been teaching the Montessori toddler age group. After teaching at this location for 5 years, she was overjoyed to have been able purchase the school with fellow parents of current and former students, and launch “Island Montessori”.
Clare is excited and confident to bring her dreams for an exceptional school and make them a reality. She is blessed to have amazing passionate co-teachers to work with. Clare has been married to her husband Darren for 13 years and together has two wonderful children Ned and Olivia who keep them busy outside of their working hours.
