Ms. Grace, Nest & Special Education Needs Teacher
Grace was born in the Philippines, she graduated with a B.Sc. in Psychology in the field of Special Education, with a major in Clinical Psychology. Grace arrived in Grand Cayman in June 2010.
Grace is the eldest of seven siblings, and at an early stage of her life she learnt to be responsible in taking care of her younger siblings, this taught her to be more caring and gentle in life.
Grace has been teaching for over 18 years. When she graduated college, her first worked was a Teacher-Aide at Cupertino Center for Special Children for 3 and a half years, it is the oldest private special school in the Philippines.
“It was a real privilege to be able to work with children with special needs the moment I graduated, it enhanced my knowledge to meet and be inspired by a range of professionals and teachers who specialize in Special Needs and Learning Disabilities. Everyday is different in my role as a teacher, and it has never been boring!”
Grace is so passionate about getting to know every child more on daily basis. As a teacher, she always keeps in mind how she can inculcate and share new things and experiences in such a way that her students can relate, enjoy and learn.
“I think children are very lucky to be in a school where teachers are happy, are role models of best practice in different areas of learning, and are committed to the school. It really does make a big difference.”
Outside of school, Grace still enjoys learning in every way, she loves arts and music, galleries and museums. She enjoys traveling, taking care of her plants, “It’s like my little universe”, and she loves hanging-out with friends and loved ones’.
