Ms. Sue, Nest Teacher
Sue was born and raised in Kent in the United Kingdom. She always knew that she wanted to work with young children after looking out for the younger children living on her street as she was growing up. Sue attended Gravesend Technical College where she attained a Diploma in Nursery Nursing with merit. Within a week of graduating from her course Sue took a job in Italy as a nanny for a year which gave her a taste of working overseas, and she then spent the next 16 years working in various countries as a nanny and nursey school teacher, with 8 of those years spent in Cayman from 2002 – 2010, where she met her husband and started their own family. Sue and the family returned to the UK in 2010 to raise their children, until recently when an opportunity arose to bring them back to our sunny island.
Sue’s children are now 6 and 10, and when asked what she loves most about working with children she reflects on their growth and tells us that watching her students develop and grow into their own little individual personalities is very rewarding and humbling, knowing she played a small part in each child’s life. Family is very important to Sue and at the heart of how she approaches teaching. In her non-working time Sue spends each day with her family, at the beach, the pool and re-exploring all that Cayman has to offer.
