Róisín Mortimer Casa Program Manager

Róisín (pronounced ‘Row-Sheen'), was born in Cork, Ireland and graduated from University College Cork with a honours degree in Early Childhood Education. Children’s Education has always been a factor in Róisín’s line of work, ever since her first work placement, and it’s from then where her passion for teaching evolved. This path eventually led her to work in a Montessori Preschool in Ireland for three and a half years where her eyes were opened to the Montessori Philosophy.

Róisín and her husband Damien arrived in Cayman in 2016 to begin the next chapter in their lives. Róisín began working at Island Montessori and received her Montessori diploma from North America Montessori Center for ages 3-6 years. Róisín loves leading the Casa Program, and is excited everyday watching the incredible development of the children as they progress from room to room throughout the school.

Outside of school Róisín stays just as productive, from relaxing creative pastimes including cross-stitching to much bigger adventures such as exploring the best of Cayman, swimming in the turquoise waters, cycling the beautiful coasts, and learning to fly drones just to name a few. However the biggest adventure is just starting for her and her husband, with the addition of their beautiful newborn twins.
